October 26, 2023The second-most prevalent type of white blood cell (WBC) is the lymphocyte. Smaller cells called B and T lymphocytes and bigger cells known as natural killer lymphocytes make up lymphocytes.
Our immune system relies on natural killer cells to protect us from viral infections and malignancies. They react to changes in the outside of cancer cells and infected cells. T lymphocyte-mediated cellular responses or B lymphocyte-mediated antibodies help B and T lymphocytes adapt to infected cells.
High level:

Low level:
- Higher Risk of Infection

What you should do:
High levels;
This might indicate the cause of your illness. Often, follow-up testing over several weeks shows that the lymphocytosis has resolved. Special blood tests can be helpful if lymphocytosis persists.
Extreme low levels:
A chronic condition, you may need ongoing care to ensure you have enough white blood cells to prevent infections.
Other than that follow a healthy diet plan, get plenty of rest, and avoid germs as your body recovers its lymphocyte levels.
