Absolute Monocytes

Like all other white blood cells (WBCs), monocytes are made in the complicated regions called bone marrow, which are found inside many of our bigger bones.

Phagocytosis, the process by which monocytes consume foreign invaders, is also responsible for the death of infected cells.

High level:

• Mononucleosis
• Lupus

Low level:

• Infection

What you should do:

High levels:

Avoid foods that cause inflammation like red meats, refined carbohydrates, and fried foods.

• Exercising regularly.
• Limiting alcohol consumption.
• Managing current medical conditions.

Extreme low levels:

Don’t smoke and Eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables.
