October 26, 2023The least frequent of the five types of white blood cells are basophilic granulocytes (also known as “basophils”).
Histamine and interleukin-4 are just two of the substances that basophils secrete or release when stimulated. Both substances are crucial to the allergic reaction.
High level:
- leukemia
- Autoimmune disease
Low level:
- Allergic Reaction
- severe allergic anaphylactic reaction
What you should do:
High levels:
You might need chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery.
Low levels:
Avoid allergens or taking antihistamines.
